Chinese Beef Short Ribs

Tender beef short ribs infused with the flavors of Chinese cuisine, cooked in either an Instant Pot or Crock Pot. This Paleo and GAPS-friendly dish is both nutritious and delicious, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 4 lbs beef short ribs
  • 1/2 cup coconut aminos
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

In a bowl, whisk together coconut aminos, honey, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, apple cider vinegar, and beef broth

Season short ribs with salt and pepper, then place them in the Instant Pot or Crock Pot

Pour the sauce over the short ribs, ensuring they are well coated

For Instant Pot: Close the lid and set the pressure valve to sealing

Cook on high pressure for 35 minutes, then natural release for 10 minutes before manually releasing any remaining pressure

For Crock Pot: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the meat is tender

Once cooked, carefully remove the short ribs from the pot

Optional: For a thicker sauce, you can transfer the sauce to a saucepan and simmer until reduced

Serve the short ribs hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds
