Salted Caramel Rice Krispie Squares

The perfect balance of sweet, salty, and crispy can be found in these Rice Krispie Squares with salted caramel. Ideal for a simple, quick dessert that the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups rice krispies cereal
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 bag 10 oz mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt plus extra for garnish
  • Cooking spray for greasing the pan

Instructions:

Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan with cooking spray and set aside

In a large saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat

Add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter and stir continuously until they are completely melted and the mixture is smooth

Stir in the caramel sauce and 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt until well combined

Remove the saucepan from the heat and quickly fold in the rice krispies cereal until they are evenly coated with the caramel marshmallow mixture

Transfer the mixture into the greased baking pan and press it down firmly using a spatula or the back of a greased spoon

Sprinkle a little extra sea salt on top for garnish, if desired

Allow the mixture to cool and set for about 30 minutes at room temperature

Once the squares have set, cut them into desired sizes using a sharp knife
