Vegan Chocolate Glazed Donuts
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/4 cup applesauce
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips for glaze
- 1 tbsp coconut oil for glaze
- Sprinkles optional, for decoration
Instructions:
Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F
Grease a pan for donuts
Mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt in a big bowl
Mix the applesauce, almond milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl
Mixing until just combined, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients
Take care not to blend too much
About two thirds of the way up, fill each donut cavity with batter
A toothpick inserted into a donut should come out clean after baking for 12 to 15 minutes
After letting the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes, move them to a wire rack to finish cooling
Melt the dairy-free chocolate chips and coconut oil in 20-second increments in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth
Reposition the donuts on the wire rack after dipping each one in the chocolate glaze and allowing any extra to fall off
Before serving, let the glaze set and add sprinkles if desired
